KISS Workshop 2026

Dr. Bhundiya attended the Keck Institute of Space Studies (KISS) workshop on Hybrid-Space Ground Observatories from March 9-13, 2026. The workshop focused on a hybrid space–ground approach for imaging exoplanets that combines a large ground-based telescope, such as the Extremely Large Telescope (ELT), with an orbiting 100-m diameter starshade in space. Various technologies for achieving the 100-m diameter starshade were discussed, including an origami-based deployable design, an inflatable design, and a modular in-space assembled design.
